About Kelly Clinch...

My Professional Background

I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in English and Honors in both Literature and Writing. I taught English and Language Arts in Atlanta public school classrooms for 15 years and have been tutoring students privately for even longer. As a professional educator, I have taught all grade levels of English Language Arts, but my career mainly focused on working with gifted learners in many honors and AP English courses. I spent most of my many years in the classroom working with seniors and that always included guiding them through the college application process, writing recommendations for them, and of course, reviewing their college essays. It was one of my favorite things to do, especially when my students were admitted to their dream schools!

Now I work independently as a college admissions consultant, and recently earned my Graduate Certificate in College Counseling with Distinction from UCLA. Today, I offer writing coaching, college consulting, and truly enjoy working with college applicants on their applications, essays, and personal statements. Helping students find their voice and confidence is the main goal in my consulting work. I am also a member of SACAC and an associate member of IECA.

My Hobbies and Interests

Outside of my work, I love reading (of course!), volunteering, playing tennis, and traveling. About ten years ago, I published a children's book and would love to write a few more one day! My three children are out of the nest now, two working professionally in NYC and one still in college (Go Heels!). I live in Dunwoody, Georgia with my husband and our sweet yellow lab, Winnie.
